"They look good, are well built, and perform well in both small rooms (12 m²) and larger spaces (33 m²). The reflex port is tuned to support the bass rather than exaggerate it. Perhaps they are not the most analytical speakers at this price point, but they prioritise music over technical showmanship—and that is a valid choice. You cannot have everything at this price.

If you can live with the natural oak finish, do not require grilles, can accept a delivery time of about a month, and have a suitable amplifier for a four ohm load, then it is well worth contacting Xavian or your local dealer. The Grande Unica might be exactly the loudspeaker you have been looking for—recommended for all kinds of music and long, enjoyable listening sessions."

"I think Xavian have pulled a blinder with the Unica. They've managed to create a speaker that is amp friendly, room friendly, beautifully finished and at a reasonable price. Those four alone would seal the deal for a lot of people but when you add the fact that they're bloody enjoyable as well than they enter the no brainer category. I ended up thinking a couple of times that if I had to give up my usual Living Voices for space or budgetary constraints then I could happily live with the Xavians. Yes I'd miss the LVs (I mean who wouldn't?) but the Xavian's combination of balanced performance, ease of drive and downright enjoy-ability ultimately make them a success. We don't do stars or globes at TNT-Audio (note to Editor - maybe we could do dynamite sticks?) but if we did the Unicas would be walking away with a good few. I think Roberto from Xavian wouldn't be out of place quoting the inimitable Wayne Campbell “he shoots, he scores”."

"At this price level (and quite some way above), the Unicas are exceptional for their blend of tonal saturation and outright resolution. This is another place where the ‘how do they do that?’ territory of the Unicas lies, and that’s before we consider money... Give them a supporting cast of high-end calibre, and they will respond in kind, throwing generously sized soundscapes while displaying a rich palette of tonal colours without obvious colorations - for example, they don’t do the slightly euphonic midrange embellishment classic Sonus faber designs were known for."

"I THINK YOU MAY BE SURPRISED when you listen to these speakers in good conditions, with a good ampli-fier and a rich signal source. Xavian Unica will deliver an expansive, powerful soundstage with full planes and layers, without any gaps between sounds. They will play music with full commitment. Because it is dense and low sound focused on the midrange.

And they play any music in this way, from any release. They show their strengths and weaknesses, but they do not destroy the illusion of transferring sounds to our world. These appear in the room as if it were disap-pearing from the equation, because the speakers are not “visible”. There is also no impression that the sound is coming from them. It is as if it were generated by the entire space between us and the speakers. It is not a point in space that spreads throughout our room, but a large, coherent plane.

Xavian play in a very elegant way, with a full band. That's why not only sophisticated jazz recordings, but also rock, such as my beloved album Electric by The Cult, produced by the same Rick Rubin who is responsible for the Red Hot Chili Peppers album Californication, as well as the electronic music from the maxi single Zero Gravity, sounded great."

"Konečně jsme dostali možnost otestovat reprosoustavy, které vznikají kousek od Prahy v manufaktuře Xavian. Její majitel Roberto Barletta se narodil v italském Turíně, ale v Česku žije už přes třicet let a jeho firma má za sebou na sedmdesát úspěšných produktů.

Nejnovějším přírůstkem je Xavian Unica, kompaktní regálové reprosoustavy vyrobené z masivního dubového dřeva. Unica má neotřelý vzhled a pro značku netypický zvuk. Ještě méně typická je ovšem cena, kterou by na první pohled nikdo nehádal."

"It is actually fascinating that in the Czech Republic it is possible to manufacture something like this from high-quality branded and custom-made components (definitely not some Chinese no-name parts). In a way, XAVIAN Unica is a spiritual successor to the very popular Perla and Perla Esclusiva, but it has a more modern design and, most importantly, a significantly lower price and yet higher quality. It seems that Roberto Barletta has decided that, as with the XN series in its quality range, it is necessary to offer "more for less." The Unica are beautifully crafted (no surprise with XAVIAN) and, at 25,000 CZK, offer a truly unique sense of value. Not only in terms of materials and aesthetics, but above all in terms of sound. They work with practically anything, remaining pleasant, musical, and colorful in all circumstances, completely non-confrontational and intimately communicative. They are not perfectly analytical or intensely monitor-like, but the ease with which they convey the true essence of music, allowing you to spend a few hours with a smile on your face, is truly unique for 25,000 CZK. Let's be proud that something like this is being created in the Czech Republic! At least we are proud of it, and one pair is now a permanent part of our available test setup."

"To že ma reproduktorové sústavy Xavian Integrale nesklamú som predpokladal prakticky od začiatku. Otázne bolo, aké dobré až v skutočnosti budú, a o koľko lepšie budú od doterajšieho vlajkového modelu Xavian Virtuosa Anniversario. Zarámcoval by som to teda nasledovne. Xavian Integrale právom patria na piedestál a jednoznačne ide v každom smere o najlepšie reprosústavy, aké som od spoločnosti Xavian doposiaľ testoval. Pokiaľ ste šťastným majiteľom Xavian Virtuosa Anniversario a pýtate sa či má zmysel zaoberať sa výmenou za model Integrale, odpoviem vám celkom jednoznačne. Ak vlastníte veľkometrážny byt s plochou obývačky 50 a viac štvorcov, prípadne patríte k vyvoleným, čo majú pre tento krásny, ale nákladný koníček vyčlenený vlastný priestor s plochou nad 40 m2, určite by som odporúčal o výmene popremýšľať. Bavíme sa o voľbe, ktorá verím môže pre väčšinu z nás znamenať aj finálnu stanicu a koniec nikdy nekončiaceho hľadania svätého grálu každého hifistu.U nás v redakcii si zatiaľ nechávame naše referenčne hrajúce Xavian Virtuosa Anniversario. Aj napriek tomu však môžem s kľudným svedomím vyriecť známu francúzsku frázu spojenú s menovaním nového panovníka. Kráľ je mŕtvy, nech žije kráľ."

„To podtrhuje hlavní smysl této recenze – očekával jsem, že Xavian Virtuosa Anniversarios budou kultivované, že budou přinejmenším „dobré“ ve všech audiofilních aspektech, že budou hrát s autoritou, že na sebe nebudou upozorňovat, že to bude velmi příjemný poslech – co jsem nečekal, bylo, že Xaviany budou skutečně vzrušující. Ale jsou. Díky nim mám chuť poslouchat svou hudbu – všechnu – znovu a znovu. To je to, co si její tvůrce předsevzal – dosáhnout toho, a to bez toho, aby se uchýlil k umělým prvkům, které by unavovaly a přály si někdy po čase výměnu reproduktorů, je za každou cenu chvályhodné. To, že větší jména v oboru by si podle svých obvyklých kalkulačních modelů pravděpodobně účtovala několikanásobek ceny, za kterou se Xaviany prodávají, je jen třešničkou na dortu. Nebýt toho, že je jich pro světový trh k dispozici mizivé množství, byl by tu vážný potenciál k narušení…“

At the risk of coming across as a cheerleader for this tiny, artisanal Czech company that is rarely found at the major international high-end audio events (the cost of maintaining a presence there is likely prohibitive given the scale of the operation) – this first non-limited edition speaker from the reinstated and rejuvenated top-of-the-range XN series demonstrates that Roberto Barletta has in no way suffered from the ‘difficult second album syndrome’.

The Xavian Medea is as revealing, impactful, and agile as it is friendly, coherent, and engaging in typical domestic settings; it is as precise as it is comprehensive. Furthermore, it offers transparency—particularly by avoiding the addition of grain and texture that might obscure lower- level information—allowing it to do justice to very high-end sources and amplification devices, whilst not being excessively punishing to more modest devices. In fact, during everyday use, it delivered background sounds from a distinctly lo-fi internet radio player that were quite enjoyable, providing body and scale, if not refinement. And, as with all truly exceptional hi-fi components, it raises challenging questions regarding the necessity for ‘more’ in terms of size, complexity, and expenditure.“

„Medea’s ethos mirrors Barletta’s creed: fidelity to the source. The cabinets, free of superfluous design, prioritize acoustic integrity and are paired with one of the most interesting 21st‑century drivers—wielded without restraint to ensure that everything serves the whole, with no frequency clamoring for attention.

These speakers do not “enhance”—they reveal. In their presence, you hear not a product, but the culmination of Barletta’s obsession: a relentless pursuit of musicality, transparency, and the perfect union of the golden trinity of timbre, tone, and color. The Medea speaks music fluently, and the fatigue-free joyous impact lingers long after the listening has concluded.

Like a score stripped of interpretive ego, Medea strikes with a perfect musical balance, demanding the listener to engage with the music itself. These speakers are unflinching, uncompromising, and utterly vital in their presentation, with no artificial coloration and no need for coloration from amplifiers.

„Aj keď sa mi to ťažko píše, v istých momentoch sa mi zdala novinka Xavian Medea o niečo príjemnejšia a zvukovo luxusnejšia hlavne v pásme stredov. Vo všetkých ostatných parametroch by som však opäť volil univerzálnosť modelu Xavian Virtuosa Anniversario, ktorej veľkosť jej dáva predovšetkým na basoch objem a dôraz s výbornou kontrolou čo sa mi osobne veľmi páči. Pokiaľ však máte posluchový priestor povedzme do 25 m2 bude pre vás Xavian Medea určite lepšou voľbou aj pre jej jednoduchšiu integráciu. Pri citlivosti 87 dB si treba zadovážiť aj adekvátny zosilňovač, aby z regáloviek dostal ich plný umelecký potenciál. Výroba a predaj sú nakoniec ibana začiatku, čo sa nedá povedať o 50 kusovej limitovanej edícii modelu Xavian Virtuosa Anniversario, ktorá sa pomaly ale isto blíži svojim počtom párov do finále. Aktuálne je stále možné rozhodnúť sa či si vyberiete o niečo detailnejšie no menej univerzálne Xavian Medea, alebo trojpásmovky s veľkým a nekompromisným prejavom, na ktoré však budete potrebovať aj patrične veľký, a tiež aj akusticky vyladený priestor. Rozhodnutie je na vás. Naše odporúčania sú však jednoznačné.Xavian Medea patria do elitnej kategórie referenčných regálových dvojpásmových reprosústav.“

„Zdá se, že sázka na nejnovější generaci měničů Ellipticor je nutně volba úspěchu. Po krásných Virtuosa Anniversario XAVIAN postavil kompaktní (ačkoliv na poměry dvoupásmových regálovek stále odvážně velké) Medea a ty se snad poslouchají ještě lépe. Snad je to ještě jednodušší výhybkou a „bodovějším“ vyzařováním, ale je to úchvatně otevřený, čistý, fantastický detailní, hlavně ale ultimativně rychlý a konkrétní zvuk. Spolu s perfektní transparentností dostanete prostě to, co do Medea pustíte, snad jen s výjimkou nejnižší oktávy. Ellipticor také nejsou „masité“, o to živěji a bezprostředněji ale hudba působí. Možná si říkáte, že tři sta tisíc za stojanový model s dvěma měniči je hodně, ale když vezmete v potaz robustní ozvučnici, super drahé reproduktory a hlavně snad až bezkonkurenční zvukové výkony Ellipticorů, máte před sebou fascinující teleport, vedoucí do nitra hudby, v níž je pak slyšet možná úplně všechno. XAVIAN Medea jsou perličkou nejen českého, ale i světového high-endu. Bravo!“

„Na úvod hodnocení budu výjimečně osobní. V této cenové kategorii si za ty roky, které se věnuji testování, nevybavuji jiné highendové reprosoustavy, jejichž zvuk by mě tak oslovil. Jubilejní Virtuosy mají dar zprostředkovat přímý kontakt s hudbou. Podmínkou je pouze výběr kvalitní nahrávky, u níž vystoupí dříve neslýchané detaily, ale u technicky slabé nevylepší jediný tón. Spojitý komplexní zvuk je transparentní, mimořádně vyvážený. Tonální neutralita odhalí vybarvení každého nástroje či vokálního témbru. Široká hudební scéna překvapí svou hloubkou, lokalizace jednotlivých nástrojů je neomylná. Zvláštní kapitolu představuje dynamika, soustavy hrají s lehkostí i v případech, kdy je zesilovač zásobuje členitými nahrávkami. Basy si vždy uchovávají tělo, energii, která hudbě propůjčuje tah. Jednotlivá pásma nemá smysl kádrovat, celkový projev je organický. Není od věci zmínit, že soustavy hrají hezky i potichu, což není určitě samozřejmé.“

„Absolútna kontrola, čistota celku aj najjemnejšieho detailu, blesková odozva, rýchlosť kombinovaná s ľahkosťou, celková plnosť prenášaného pásma. Všetky spomínané atribúty sa niesli posluchovým testom ako závan príjemného čerstvého južného povetria. Totiž, existuje veľká skupina špičkovo znejúcich reprosústav, ktoré vám poskytnú veľkú väčšinu z nich, máloktoré však úplne všetky a už vôbec nie v tejto cenovej kategórii, skôr až v tej maximálnej. Stávka spoločnosti Xavian na použitie bezpochyby tých momentálne najkvalitnejších meničov v kombinácii s nekompromisným návrhom výhybky a celkovým konceptom reprosústav sa jednoznačne vyplatila. Ich výročný model je najlepšou ukážkou ich schopností a zároveň dôkazom, že vedia priniesť produkt, ktorý dokáže uspokojiť aj extrémne náročného poslucháča. A ani my sme neboli výnimkou. Očarenie bolo natoľko výrazné, že priamo na mieste, ešte v posluchovej miestnosti sme s kolegom dospeli k rozhodnutiu, že Xavian Virtuosa Anniversario doplnia našu referenčnú redakčnú audio zostavu. V zákazkovom luxusnom prevedení v čiernom klavírnom laku. V čase vydania tohto čísla High&Style by sme ich už mali mať v plnej paráde a venovať sa ich rozohrávaniu. Spolupráce s nimi sa už nevieme dočkať!“
