About us
Roberto Barletta was born in Turin, Italy, to parents with roots in southern Italy.
However, he grew up in a family of musicians. From an early age, his life was accompanied by the sound of violins, guitars, and singing. His childhood had a profound influence on him. As early as 1984, his interest in music and technology led him to "play" with speakers and music reproduction at home.
In 1989, Roberto Barletta impressed his school jury with his project for a large Class A amplifier. The journey had begun. This was his first major success, which confirmed that he was on the right track with his career choice. That same year, he started working for an Italian company that developed and sold speaker systems and amplifiers.
This experience lasted five years, and in 1994, Roberto Barletta decided to move to Prague. After a difficult two-year period of "acclimatization," he decided to build his own company, which he named "Xavian" after Greek mythology—a place dedicated to the muses in Crete, where the muses met to find inspiration. Xavian's first headquarters were located in the basement of a building in Prague's Vinohrady district. This was followed by a second headquarters in Kladno, and since 2013, the company has been based in a former old mill in Hostivice near Prague.

It has been over 25 years since Roberto Barletta personally soldered each speaker, personally designed the internal crossovers, and personally supervised the assembly of each piece. In the meantime, Xavian has grown, expanded its range of models, become available in several countries around the world, and gained numerous global awards and recognition. Roberto Barletta still oversees the assembly, workmanship, and overall quality.
In 2015, the time was right to come full circle: a return to cultural roots and origins. The Epica series was born, with the Orfeo model as its first representative, which captivated the whole world with its quality and workmanship.
In 2018, Xavian received an unprecedented number of awards for the second generation of its flagship Perla model, called Perla Esclusiva. The new version was a global success.
In 2019, Xavian introduced the unusual Classic Series – a range of uncompromisingly designed monitors with extreme solutions in a conservative enclosure.
Since 2020, Roberto Barletta has once again taken over all development and design work from a larger team. His efforts culminated in 2023 with the launch of the Virtuosa Anniversario anniversary model – the world's first mass-produced loudspeakers with the ultimate Scan-Speak Ellipticor drivers.
